Common Dental Emergencies

Toothache: If you’re dealing with a persistent toothache, rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss to remove any trapped food. Avoid placing aspirin or any other painkiller directly on your gums, as this can cause irritation.

Knocked-Out Tooth: If a permanent tooth gets knocked out, keep it moist by placing it in milk or a tooth preservation product. Get to our office immediately with the tooth. For baby teeth, contact us to determine the appropriate next steps.

Chipped or Broken Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. Save any broken pieces of the tooth and bring them to our office as soon as possible.

Lost Filling or Crown: If a filling or crown falls out, cover the cavity with dental cement or sugarless gum to protect it until you can visit our office.

Bitten Tongue or Lip: Gently clean the area with water and apply a cold compress to reduce swelling. If bleeding doesn’t stop, seek immediate medical attention.
